Creating Waves of Awareness

Last week I had the pleasure to hand over the check with the total amount of het donations to Kees Dam, who represented ‘Homeopaths without Borders’. This was the third project the Walk for Homeopathy donated the money that was collected by my consultations, writing and teaching and the donations of supporters.

The first was AHRF: they received over 2000 euro for their work with PC remedies for epidemic diseases .

The second was HHA, the project of Jeremy Sherr in Tanzania.

And now HwB got 2100 euro to support their homeopathic training project in Uganda.

Giving is great for both parties, just think about how lovely it is to give birthday or Christmas presents; or how we all enjoy helping each other with a move, a problem, a preparation or a project. It would be so much nicer if people could always be in a “give” rather than a “get” modus.

The next project that will receive the proceeds of coming months of working and walking is Carol Boyce’s movie on Homeopathy on the Farm. We all know her from the DVD ‘Homeopathy around the World’ (a must-have by the way) and this is another brilliant idea of hers. Farmers are very practical and down to earth, when’ it works’ they will use homeopathy, otherwise they won’t. And crops and animals obviously don’t thrive because of the placebo effect or the good conversation….

As for the break I had last few weeks: besides patients and family time, Christel and I organized not only the UK, but the next legs as well. I’ll be off to Israel the 28th of April and enthusiast homeopaths made leaflets, blogs, got them a local coordinator, organized a seminar, lots of meetings, and a trip in the desert the last days. That sounds very promising.
After a few days at home, I’ll fly to Volos and from there take the boat to Alonissos, where I will meet Vithoulkas. Exciting!. The 7th July my oldest granddaughter and I arrive in Edinburg, halfway August I’m in Denmark, my plane ticket for Brazil is bought  (September/October) and the Walk will end at Hahnemann’s grave in Paris the 15th or October, my 61st brithday. That was a whole lot of planning and booking but we got the second part scheduled now.

Yes, the Walk is about half way. Time to assess the results. Concerning the Walking part of it: lots of people have walked and enjoyed walking with me.  In the Netherlands there are monthly Walks for Homeopathy and one person even decided to continue walking to Santiago the Compostella! My condition has definitely improved: isn’t it good news that this is possible at age 60? It means: at this age it is not too late for….(Fill in yourself) And of course it is never too late to do what you really want to do in life.
The Linking part has been most enjoyable: lots of interesting new encounters and people who met because of the Walk.
The Healing is the bit that has most to do with my Next Step. My contribution for the’ Bridge the Gap’, the workshop that tries to do what the name suggests, was about the role of the healer in the healing process. Maybe I underestimated the fact that –obvious as it is- in order to heal one has to be a healer. And while it is hard to exactly define what that implies, we can maybe agree on characteristic like calling, devotion and service. We could say that the healer is the instrument through whom healing takes place.  Then the next question is if a person is born with it or can it be acquired? And who can tell? What are the parameters? ….. lots of topics to poner over during the next hikes.
