Creating Waves of Awareness
To be frank, I do not know whether this method is already adopted by anybody or not!
This is my new attempt in the management of Obsessive Compulsion Disorder (OCD). Anyway, I have named it as Dr Rafeeque’s OCD Chart and got copyright temporary registration number.
I have one patient who is suffering from severe form of OCD which was managed by many doctors, and almost all systems of medicine. He has one shop in the city, which is 7 kilometers away from his home. He told me that every night, he has to go back to his shop to confirm whether the shop is locked or not. He even needs to confirm whether the electricity is turned off or not. Some times, he gets up from the bed and tries to go back for rechecking. He said his family life is affected seriously; even he can’t help his children in studies because of the persistent insecurity feeling. On taking the case, given Carcinocin 1M (Homeopathic medicine) considering the family history, rude nature of his parents and his early responsibilities in life for the family, including the history of suppressed emotions. Along with the medicine, I also prepared this chart for him. I have asked him to take 30 printouts every month, and use one page on daily basis. He is asked to write down his daily tasks, also any extra tasks to be done. Then put a tick mark after doing the work. After a few minutes, he must confirm it and put double tick marks. Finally, before leaving the shop, he must reconfirm that he has done the work, and put his signature with time of reconfirmation. I strongly instructed him to keep this paper inside his pocket, and to keep inside his bedroom.
To my surprise, he reported that he is doing it regularly and all his troubles are markedly improved. Hope infrequent doses of Carcinocin and this chart will make him better soon. Gradually, when he improves, I will make another chart with minimum rows and columns so that he can manage himself without that in the near future. Let’s hope for the best.
