Homeopathy World Community

Creating Waves of Awareness

There are 2376 members in this community. Only about 20-30 people actively participate in different activities. This is a very serious issue because we all joined here for a cause and if that cause or purpose is not served, then all will be in vain. Let us comment on what is the probable causes for this absence of participation. If there is any suggestion about it, all can put it up.

Please come forward and speak.

Regards

Dear Sajjad. I am thinking about these statistics and realize that we are now splitting our time among many venues. Even I, as administrator, spend quite a bit of time on Twitter, FaceBook, reading other people's blogs all over the internet and from the Homeopaths Daily Online News, hours preparing and doing the HWC radio show on BTR, and writing my own blogs on numerous websites. Therefore, we are all on the same cause doing many good works, perhaps spending more time inter-relating with each other, but not all right here on HWC. Although, I do think of HWC as my "home-base."

In essence, we are communicating and making more connections, but have diversified. If you would like more activity and mails right here, then it would mean more interaction on your part to stimulate responses. Have you written some new and exciting forum discussions? Uploaded gorgeous photos? Written editorials about something of interest?

The new word games, etc. just take a few moments of time and do not provide in-depth review. However, that is also considered interaction between people and good learning experience. Look on the bright side!

To provide an idea of actual visits each month. We have steady growth over the opening of this website. Many people pop in and out all day to check their mail, walls, comments, blogs, etc. The numbers below tell that some people are very active and others just coming for a look at what is new or from an outside link.

What is different about HWC is that there are minimal sales which would push people to click further links to purchase items. That means that most of these statistics show a real interest in reading about homeopathy, sharing and learning about each other.

December 15, 2010 - January 14, 2011

  • 27,084 Visits [about 902 / day]
  • 88,920 Pageviews
  • 3.28 Pages per Visit
  • 4:06 Average Time on HWC
  • 63.11% % New Visits

Not 100, less than 20 are active. Some of the best contributors have left the community. I can see the decline but still it is on the top. Hope it will improve.

I appreciate you for posting this. I think the number is not 20-30, nearly about 100 members are active in posting comments! But there are many members who go through each and every articles and discussions. May be due to their busy schedule, they are not in a position to post their comments. HWC has no discrimination on the basis of qualification and social position, hence anybody can activily participate.  Infact, some of our "untrained" homeopaths know better homeopathy than us! We learn so many things from them on regular basis. I hope this post will make all our members to come forward and share their views and knowledge. HWC never entertain unhealthy criticism. But healthy criticism and interaction is always supported. We never discriminate different schools, because the final destination is the same for all of us! So my request to all members: Visit HWC atleast once in a day, and interact with fellow homeopaths and enjoy the familial atmosphere of this community.

Dear Christine, You are absolutely doing a good thing for all by sharing it further. As Debby, Dr.Hans and Dr. Anand stated that members read and donot comment, that is there, but I think so many of us are there who can give more to add knowledge. I request them to please take out time. (at least few minutes to add on something). There are some how get busy and come back again. As Debby said, we should also contact and encourage more to communicate.

Thank you all for commenting.

Hi

Some pass by-- others stay for a while, some come back -- such is the nature of this site, and i love it.

Comment by Debby Bruck on January 14, 2011 at 1:11pm

Dear Nilanjana. The statistics ring true for all organizations. In fact, our participation rate is quite high given all the options where people can spend their time. My concept of connecting with each and every member via a telephone tree or other mode of communication would be helpful in making people feel welcome and comfortable about visiting. If we had twenty volunteers to connect with fifty or more members on a monthly basis to tell them about one of the most interesting facts, blogs, articles, groups, videos or photos we might have more people commenting.

In the same manner, when one person comments on any blog, this is an indication that potentially 100 or more other people have READ the blog, but not commented. One of the purposes of HWC is to teach folks how to ENGAGE and become an active member on the internet. This means taking a few minutes to write your thoughts, let others know you were there, comment and more.

I have requested that the NING network have a "LIKE" button so we would actually see more activity. This will be an upcoming feature here in the next few months. We do so appreciate all that you SHARE here.

Love, Debby
