Creating Waves of Awareness

Here is a case of blindness of, a 10 years old girl, in right eye caused by injury on the right temple. The girl fell down in the stair case and incurred injury on her right of head especially the right temporal region. Consequently she lost sight in her right eye. She was treated in a Christian Mission Hospital for two months with no improvement in her sight. Consequently she was declared incurable. It is a known fact that the Christian Missionary serve the patients with great zeal and full attention.

When the patient was first seen on 29th April 2010 her iris was insensible to the torch light. During the examination when the girl was asked if she could see the torch light she told that she could hardly see a red blot by the blind eye.

On the basis of history of internal injury on the right side of head, I presumed that her visual nerves were damaged/injured; and as such Arnica which is a wonderful vulnerary may help the girl. So:
• on 29th April 2010 I prescribed Arnica 1M twice weekly.
• 15th May 2010 – No change Arnica 10M one dose every 5th day.
• 14th June 2010 – By now she is able to see the light with the right eye. Same prescription
• 26th June 2010 – Now the sight in her right eye improved so much that she was able to see my fingers at a distance of four feet. Some more doses were given. But the patient or her father (who was taking treatment for psoriasis from me) did not turn up again till this date (25th October 2010).

It gave me great joy when she saw my fingers at a distance of four feet. I felt grateful to Homoeopathy because the so called modern medical science failed to improve her. 

I'm in amazement of your conviction with the remedy arnica if after one month there was no change with Arnica 1M and then raising to higher dose the following month saw the first improvement. This give faith to patient and homeopath to have patience with prescription. Congratulations on a cure! P.S. Also, I'm wondering why your title calls this "Mild" doses when the potency of 10M I consider quite high.

Mild because 10M is the more diluted medicine. Chemically nothing can be found in the dilution. But it has more close to the simple substance and has the power to affect the diseased cell nucleus. On the other hand it will not affect a healthy infant even a bit.

I am curious why you chose to repeat Arnica 10M every five days. I would usually have gone to 50M if I found that a 10M needed to be repeated that soon. 50M, watch and wait. Very Kentian. So I am not trying to argue with you, sir, but hoping to learn something new that may be helpful to my patients. Thank you.

I am in favor of Dr. Bruce's comment. Arnica 10M or any other potencies cannot be repeated when action is positive.

Funny how this works. I seem to have answered my own question.

I recently had a patient who responded very well to Hepar Sulph. 200c. Because I did not have it in a higher potency, I repeated it several times, and every time I saw improvement. In the meantime, I ordered and received Hep. Sulph. in 1M and 10M so it would be on hand.

When the time came for the next dose, I gave her the 1M. I was surprised when she had an aggravation, rather than the immediate and lovely response she was showing with the 200c. It seems that the 1M stirred up her vital force more than she was ready for.

Now that she is past the aggravation, it is working very well. But I would rather not have caused an aggravation at all. I think that her body has told me that it would have preferred at least one more dose of the 200c before moving to a higher potency.

Fortunately this patient believes that she needs to address some underlying emotional issues and not just the physical issues (rash and respiratory ailment) which were the initial indications for the Hep. Sulph., and wanted to move into the higher potencies to do this, and so did not complain when the aggravation took place. She knows that this indicates that the VF is responding vigorously to the remedy, and this is what she wants. Still, I would rather not cause an aggravation if possible.

Last year, I learned that I can often open a case with a higher potency than I was used to doing. This year, I have learned that sometimes it is wise to continue with a lower potency. Now, I just need to get good at deciding which of these to choose! The clues are all there. I hope I am ready to learn to read them better.

Thank you sir, your proven example is very interesting.

Yes, Dr. Kuram, in some remedies I have found a 500c to be available and I really like the results, instead of going straight from 200c to 1M. I believe in this case the 500c would have been of great benefit. I wish our homeopathic pharmacies produced it as a standard offering for most remedies.

Yes, I have an experience about the same.
