(Letter published in YOU TELL US section of Homeopathic Heritage)
A few years back, I got a chance to attend the National Homeopathic Conference organized by Bharathesh Homeopathic medical college, Belgaum. There were several eminent personalities from different parts of the country and one among them was Dr Ayachit, a scientist from the department of physics in a reputed institution in Karnataka. He was supposed to speak on the science behind the action of the homeopathic medicines. He started his lecture by showing a letter that he received from an anonymous person, a few days before the seminar. Being an open minded man, he disclosed the contents of the letter in front of the delegates. The letter was written by an ardent critic of homeopathy, in which he strongly urges Dr Ayachit not to speak anything in favor of homeopathy. The letter emphasized that the scientific community should never support homeopathy, and scientists should never make any sort of attempts to prove its efficacy. Since Dr Ayachit had already experienced the therapeutic value of homeopathy, he simply neglected the letter and in his valuable speech he emphasized the relevance of Quantum physics and Nanotechnology to explain the medicinal powers of potentized drugs. He also suggested the young homeopaths to study nanotechnology and try to correlate with the concept of drug dynamisation.
The above incident shows the narrow minded and crooked attitude of the critics of homeopathy. Such substandard attempts have been made by a number of critics right from the time of Hahnemann, lots of articles were written against his teachings and created several hurdles before him. In spite of all these oppositions, our system is flourishing day by day and many people are taking homeopathic treatment. Interestingly, a good number of those critics later on shifted to Homeopathy and became the ambassadors of this system. Now the question arises as to who deserves the credit for all these achievements homeopathy has gained so far. Of course, the pioneers took a vital role for the establishment of this science, but the credit goes to our medicines which are dynamic disease curing agents that can positively act on the sick individuals at any time, anywhere and under any circumstances due to their stronger power than the natural disease causing agents.
