Creating Waves of Awareness

  1. 1902 P.Jousset investigated the effects of silver nitrate up to 25c on mycelium. He found significant results in their weights, finding that the silver
nitrate stunted growth. (reported by Gabriel Bertrand) “The

  2. 1906 Boericke and Tafel made an unusual observation of the emanations from a high dilute of radium bromide (30c), to photograph a picture of the outline of a

5. 1923 N.P. Krawkow- Demonstrated 15c histamine increased the blood flow in isolated rabbit ears 25% and using 12c microdoses of adrenaline,
strychnine, histamine and quinine was able to affect the change of
pigmentation in the isolated skins of frogs. Controls were used. “Beyond
the Boundary of Sensibility of Living Protoplasm” Zeitschrift fur die

6. 1925 G. Stearns & M. Stark reported the action of microdilutes on fruit fly tumors. In this fascinating study we see that microdilutes actually
altered the genetics of their subjects. A
genetically determined tendency to tumor formation ceased to exist after
the administration of a microdilution of the tumor itself (isopathy).
Controls were used. Other microdilutes were used to no effect.

7. 1925 G. Stearns tested microdilutions of salt on guinea pigs and demonstrated adverse affects from 30c to 1000c sodium chloride. He noted loss of
appetite, aversion for bread, loss of weight, their young poorly
nourished and scrawny, less active, indifferent, hair less glossy,
rough, untidy, eyes watery, lack luster. And homeopaths brag that their
“remedies” (which are actually legal drugs) can do no harm! There were
16 female control animals, and they all became pregnant, whereas only
31% of the 48 female experimental animals became pregnant. At the end of
five months over half, 55% of the experimental animals were dead
compared to only 35% of the control animals “Experimental Data on One of
the Fundamental Claims in Homeopathy”, The Journal of the American
Institute of Homeopathy, 18.

8. 1927 Karl Konig used microdilutes to experiment on frogs and
fungi. He discovered that by using dilutions of of lead and silver
nitrate ranging from 1 to 15c he could cause a premature
metamorphosis in Rana fusca (common frog tadpoles) or kill
them or the fungus in the water. Once again here we see that
homeopathic drugs can have negative organic affects. Controls
were used and the sinusoidal curve that we see in many
experiments of diverse measures is first noted here. “On the Effect of

9. 1929 Vladimir Vondracek repeated Konig’s work, and instead
of lead and silver nitrate used gold chloride and a different
species of frog. At 12c he also reported a significant increase in
the mortality of tadpoles, and also obtained a repetition of the
sinusoidal curve. “The Mortality of Tadpoles in Ultra Solutions”

Oh, and by the way, since you cannot learn and claim an open mind, it looks like the intelligence has run out the crack. You swallow all the propaganda about studies "disproving" homoeopathy, without realising those "studies" are not studies, but simple attempts to discredit homoeopathy. They are invariably done by people with Big Pharma ties - such as Shang et al, to name but one example and who has been discredited by his peers as a flawed analysis. Shang works for Big Pharma, which is too much afraid of homoeopathy, because it takes away too much profit.

Because you cannot see this, the discussion is now closed. I am tired of your whining about tests and reports that you never source with a quote, unlike mine, which all have the title of the journals in which they can be found.

Comment by Vaikunthanath das Kaviraj. on December 21, 2010 at 1:28am

There is nothing authentic about bookkeepers whoi manipulate numbers on the say-so of their bosses - Big Pharma - which likes nothing better than to discredit homoeopathy. You seem to like the same.

You assert the US military did experiments. Link please?

Comment by Dr. MAS on December 20, 2010 at 11:00pm

An independent test of the 2000 remote-transmission experiment was carried out in the USA by a team funded by the United States Department of Defense. Using the same experimental devices and setup as the Benveniste team, they failed to find any effect when running the experiment.

Please do not conclude any thing in advance about me or about my personality. I am not a famous personality. I am saying, if there are studies which confirmed Ben experimentation then there are studies too which do not confirm Ben result. I appreciate your effort, which you dispensed in collecting all those information but you did not highlight the other side view and Idid it and make your blog  authentic now :)

Comment by Dr. MAS on December 20, 2010 at 3:42am

I do not deny these studies. I said, the studies are not confirmed by independent scientist and few studies were carried out on the same protocol, no result was obtained. If there are results then there also studies where there are no result obtained. This is the problem. I said, I have open mind, we will accept there and then when it will be confirmed. Till then we can discuss your spaculated point.

Comment by Vaikunthanath das Kaviraj. on December 18, 2010 at 1:27am

Dr Mas."One more point, if your scientist took potencies from the market then these potencies do contain atoms and molecules therefore, these potencies might not be acceptable to foundation for experimentation due to contamination of atoms and molecules."

Of course you have to prove these assertions. You first prove that a 30C, beyond avogadro has any molecules. Because your argument has laways been that there is none.

In my blog I have given a list of many who detected the remedy before Rao did. Here it is again.

1. In 1936 W.E. Boyd of Glasgow, published the results of his research made with spectrograph. There the sensibility limit was found to reach only the 7th decimal for Aurum, Arsenicum and China. 7th decimal represents in current language a solution of 1/10,000,000, which is in fact rather a concentrated solution compared to homoeopathic dilution.

2. At about the same time, 0. Leeser and K. Janner published their research with radioactive phosphorus. They found the limit dosages at the 18th decimal (or 9th centesimal) dilution.

3. Heinz studied the physical action of dilutions using the infrared spectra and stressed on the specific value of succession. Like Gay, he found the rhythm indicating some favorable points in the curve of dilution.

4. In 1948, Wormser and Loch tested several substances from 24X to 30X. They used a photoelectric cell, to measure the intensity and wavelength of these potencies and found measurable changes, of both intensity and wavelength in these substances.

5. In the years 1951-3, Gay and Boiron tested both distilled water and Natrum muriaticum in the 27C potency, for their dielectric constant. They were able to show that the potency of Natrum mur. could be easily selected from among 99 control bottles.

6. Gay and J. Boiron (1951-1952) made a series of studies and gave results obtained with Gay's montage the name 'geography'. However, it was observed in their delicate measurement certain variations could be produced by the glass solubility or by the use of corks".

7. Physical researches include also those of Dr. Sevaux et al, who checked the unpublished experiments of Mrs. Vojn Radojicie regarding measurements of copper sulphate solution from 1st to 20th decimal potency (10th centesimal). They used bioelectrometer of Vincent.
Although chemical or physical methods were used to trace the presence of matter in dilution, yet it was believed that the link between the matter in dilutions and the activity of these dilutions could be best achieved by biological methods, since by reciprocity these methods enable one to detect the presence of a given substance by the activity of the product under investigation.

8. In 1963, Boericke and Smith tested a 12X potency of Sulphur, with and without succussion. They tested the solvent structure by nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum. They found that there were structural changes in the solvent, as the potency was increased by succussion, while no such change was detected in the controls. They repeated the experient in 1974, with diverse potencies of Sulphur, up to the 30C.

9. In 1966, Stephenson and Brucato tested both distilled water and Mercurius corrosivus, from the 1X to the 33X. They found that the dielectric constant for the controls varied from 5.6 to 6.05. For the homoeopathic potencies it varied from 2.8 to 4.4.

10. In 1975, Young tested Sulphur from 5X to 30X, with controls. He also tested the solvent structure by nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum. He found that there were measurable changes in the spectra at each dilution and succussion. No such changes were observed for the solution without succussion or without Sulphur.

11. In 1976, Boiron and Vinh used Raman Laser Spectoscopy, showing that for the 1C potency of Kali bichromicum the spectrum of alcohol disappears completely, while that for potassium bichromate appears. In Kali bich 1C the ratio of the number of potassium bichromate molecules is 1 to 500. In such a case the light meets 500 more alcohol molecules as those of bichromate, yet the alcohol spectrum does not appear.

12. Four French researchers developed a method of detection through nuclear magnetic resonance, conducted in the late 80's, which shows specific sinus waves for each potency, as well as a specific sinus wave for the substance used. These latter remain the same throughout all potencies of that substance, while the sinus wave expressing the potencies, are specific to those potencies. Thus a clear and recognisable scientifically provable frame of reference exists, for each remedy and potency.

13. In 1982, Resch, Gutman and Schauer found that dilute sodium chloride solutions revealed an increase in electrical conductivity, by rocking them prior to measurement.

So there you have 13 other tests that have come to the same conclusion, some by different means, so that the method of detection does not make any difference.

Comment by Vaikunthanath das Kaviraj. on December 18, 2010 at 1:05am

You see, Dr Mas, I see these scientific papers and I also see what is in the remedy, due to not only a memory of the Organon, but an understanding, which my teacher, with his 70 years of experience, understood practically. He made sure that I understood properly too, by having me explain the Organon to him. When not satsified, he would send me back to the same paragraph till I understood properly.

From proper understanding comes proper scientific assessment of what is presented in these papers. Reading a paper in Scientific American on how nanoparticles are the result of trituration over a long period, I was struck by the trituration for 3 hours of Hahnemann.s preparations and understood that it is but a small step to make the connection with homoeopathy.

For one who understands, the process is always simple and must be explainable in simple terms. For the ignorant, it must be more complicated - "it cannot be so simple", they declare. Yet everything that follows nature is always simple, for nature does not like to waste energy. If we see that nature works with great care to keep things simple, then the solutions to conundrums are also simple. We tend to look for the solution in the future along a complicated path of discovery. It is clear you never made a discovery. You do not find it, it finds you.

So let me try to explain something to you.

The practise of scientific discipline is like road travel. One has visible signs of achievement. The best scientific discoveries are made in one person’s work, though he wants to share it with other scientists.

Preparations are an absolute necessity. There are texts, teachings of the persons who are advanced in the discipline and finally there are one or more mentors who are masters of the discipline who may accept to guide the aspirant for a period of time. This is very similar to a spiritual discipline, which is invoked here for the purpose of illustration.

In the case of scientists, much of the training is in the ability to reason. Logic and reason are emphasised in science for designing experiments as well as for interpreting the results. One gathers data from many experimenters to systematise and draw the logical conclusions. The data cannot always be consistent; the scientist has to exercise his critical judgment based on past experience and the degree to which the data fit into a pattern.

Some scientists exercise their talents in designing and carrying out extremely refined experiments. Others excel in gathering a great deal of data and systematically discovering an exciting phenomenology. We must however proceed in an orderly manner with our investigations and they may take much time and effort.

A few really prophetic scientists are able to predict some phenomenon or to extract from the data some new conclusions. It is very significant that only a few scientists are able to do so. It is a change in perspective that enables the scientist to be a prophetic one. What appears chaotic from one perspective is orderly from another. On the other hand, order from a higher perspective is greater than the apparent chaos from a lower perspective. The most significant feature of a higher perspective is the higher quality of information.

Even in everyday life such differences in perspective exist and we find that a different perspective is needed. If we look at an accident, we all proceed from a different view. Their reconciliation comes in a three-dimensional union of all those views.

This is the nature of reality. Not one view is complete, but the conglomerate of all may – or may not, as the case may be – give a complete picture of reality. It depends on the level of organisation and the perspective that takes all parameters into consideration. As our perspective becomes more complete, the phenomena reveal more features and the possibly superfluous can be eliminated.

The higher observer can see distinctions between states of the system that appear as the same to the lower observer. This does not mean that the lower observer is ignorant of the reality, but that his perception is coloured by his status. Thus, as his status is changed from the lower to the higher, he obtains a higher perception of the phenomena.

The next question arises how some of the really prophetic scientists get this higher perspective. It is like charting a path on the globe by a line on a map. The map distorts and different kinds of maps distort differently. On the globe itself there is no such distortion. This simple example is true of all attempts to give for instance conventional descriptions of agricultural processes or for that matter any scientific description.

There is another way to get the higher perspective, which is instantaneous and in which knowledge seems to grow by leaps and bounds. This is by spiritual insight. This happens sometimes in scientific work at the stage where this selfsame scientific work becomes second nature. One is almost constantly in contemplation of one’s science in the search for a higher perspective.

One precondition seems to be the complete immersion in one’s discipline. One breathes and lives the discipline to an extreme degree. This is called surrender to the process, just as this is the case in a spiritual discipline. In the course of such a life there are many moments of insight or discovery where the vision is obtained. The scientist is in awe of that from which the discovery comes.

One finds that in that one moment of life the insight descends upon and lifts one up to a certain level, instead of one having to systematically get it. The insight seems to be unrelated chronologically or even spatially to anything else that one has at the particular time. The flashes of insight are uninvited, unexpected and awesome, but they are never unwelcome. They are freestanding and simultaneously a source of great joy.

This is not like a complicated piece of work that one has accomplished – something in which one takes great pride. In the face of such a great insight, one does not take any great pride. Instead, one is very happy and grateful. If there is anything to say, then it is that the discovery descended – it found you, rather than you found it. There is a feeling of humility and awe, instead of pride.

Henri Poincare once wrote that “it is by logic we prove, it is by intuition that we invent. Logic therefore remains barren, unless fertilised by intuition.” Intuition means nothing less than being taught from within, rather then from without. Intuition is the sign of some higher force working through you. Generally we call this force Providence.

It is maybe in the spiritual traditions that we find the better explanations for such phenomena. They call it grace and this grace is bestowed upon the sincere and humble seeker. The best answer is therefore ‘from beyond’, ‘transcending material limitations’ or ‘the Absolute’.

The discovery presented in this book comes from such higher insight. It was not the result of any effort in that direction by the author, but simply a Divine inspiration that came to him of its own accord. The resulting conclusions must be taken serious, if our understanding in general is to advance beyond the obvious.

The obvious has to date not helped us much in solving this apparent complicated puzzle of plant pests and diseases. The prophetic insight presented here offers a genuine solution to this puzzle. This requires some honest reassessment of the motivations that govern the research and the attempts at treatment. Whether such will happen depends on that very same honesty.

Generally, new discoveries are seen as the ideas of a crank – witness among others Giordiano Bruno’s helio-centric concept of the universe or Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity. Sooner or later, the scientific community surrenders to the inevitable and the theory is accepted and even put into practise.

I express the hope that in this case it is sooner, rather than later.

In the light of the financial and industrial interests connected with the issues, his hopes are small.

In the light of the necessities concerning our patients and their diseases, the demands are high.

Let, for the sake of the patient, the necessities win.

Kaviraj Quote: Preliminary data obtained using Raman and Ultra-Violet-Visible (UV-VIS) spectroscopy illustrate the ability to distinguish two different homeopathic medicines (Nux vomica and Natrum muriaticum) from one another and to differentiate, within a given medicine, the 6c, 12c, and 30c potencies.

Dr. MAS: James Randi Foundation offers 1 Million Dollar to those who can able to distinguish different unlabelled homeopathic potencies of high dilution say 200, 1m or above.

Your scientist is also sitting in USA. Please help us and solve the issue forever. Ask your scientist that he can distinguish and find out the names of unlabelled potencies by Spectroscopic technique. By doing so, it would be great blessing on us. Because then all problems would be solved.

One more point, if your scientist took potencies from the market then these potencies do contain atoms and molecules therefore, these potencies might not be acceptable to foundation for experimentation due to contamination of atoms and molecules.

Dr Mas, you claim to have an open mind and yet you have closed it to the possibility that something may be left in there that cannot be seen with the eye. That is a beancounter's mentality.

I have given you a test to prove for yourself whether a potency beyond Avogadro has something in there. Be a scientist. Do the test. Then we talk again.

You ask for proof and when it is given you deny it.

That is neither a good scientific attitude nor a sign of open-mindedness.

Comment by Dr. MAS on December 18, 2010 at 12:30am

Kaviraj Quote: homeopathy works in potencies above Avogadro, where you claim nothing is left

Dr. MAS: Its not my opinion, potencies do not retain any material, it is the fact told us by chemist by applying avogadros formula. I just quoted here for reminding you something. You admitted also but your opinion is even then potency does work. I also agree potency does work but my opinion is that avogadros limit formula does not apply over our potencies because the potencies are not prepared according to HAHNEMANIAN PRINCIPLE and during preparation it does contaminated and hence the potency does retain the atoms and molecules. Your opinion is, after taking material doses, the doses are converted into immaterial say quantum etc. My opinion on this issue, we have heard about this theory many years ago but not a proved study is available. If some scientists are validating this concept then there are others who also invalidate it. I have open mind, my opinion is, till somebody does prove it perfectly, we should not force others to accept it by presenting funny hypothetical views. When it will be proved perfectly and studies would be available openly and when all scientists will validate it, we should be having no reason reject it. I will be the first who will promote it further. Till today, is somebody is in favour and others too are against it.

Dr Mas you do not ask the same question over and over again, when one has been provided with the answers, because it indicates you ignore these findings. Why do you need something to get to nothing? As you think it is immaterial.

My argument is qualitative. You cannot condemn an entire field of potencies as magic by presupposing that discoveries which have not yet been made will somehow require all of known science to be re-written.

Take for example, the "many worlds" theory of Quantum Mechanics, an idea far crazier than anything Homeopathy theory has to offer. I see nobody condemning modern physicists as doubters for investigating and researching this theory. It remains unproven and under research.

Likewise a variation of your argument involves, again, presupposition of non-existent future knowledge on the course of Homeopathic research, this time applied to a dubious probabilistic argument which somehow tries to make conclusions on the probability that current knowledge is wrong or would need to be altered. Excuse me, same fallacy as before - the futuristic knowledge which constitutes the entire basis of your argument does not yet exist.

Last but not least, since the Homeopathic research is currently unresolved, it therefore logically necessitates giving weight to the 2 centuries worth of case studies, clinical reports and expert opinion exactly the same as is done in standard medicine.

In order for your opinion which, like mine, is nothing more than that, to be correct, it would require the assumption of probably the greatest mass delusion among medical experts, MD's, researchers, practitioners, in the history of science. PARDON ME, for neither agreeing nor allowing such an absurd assumption.

Here is a quote for you from Dr Rustum Rao, one esteemed scientist from Bharat, who has studied the phenomena and comes to the following conclusions.

The defining role of structure (including epitaxy) in the plausibility of homeopathy.

The key stumbling block to serious consideration of homeopathy is the presumed "implausibility" of biological activity for homeopathic medicines in which the source material is diluted past Avogadro's number of molecules. Such an argument relies heavily on the assumptions of elementary chemistry (and biochemistry), in which the material composition of a solution, (dilution factors and ligand-receptor interactions), is the essential consideration. In contrast, materials science focuses on the three-dimensional complex network structure of the condensed phase of water itself, rather than the original solute molecules. The nanoheterogenous structure of water can be determined by interactive phenomena such as epitaxy (the transmission of structural information from the surface of one material to another without the transfer of any matter), temperature-pressure processes during succussion, and formation of colloidal nanobubbles containing gaseous inclusions of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and possibly the remedy source material. Preliminary data obtained using Raman and Ultra-Violet-Visible (UV-VIS) spectroscopy illustrate the ability to distinguish two different homeopathic medicines (Nux vomica and Natrum muriaticum) from one another and to differentiate, within a given medicine, the 6c, 12c, and 30c potencies. Materials science concepts and experimental tools offer a new approach to contemporary science, for making significant advances in the basic science studies of homeopathic medicines.
