I am very interested in this subject, since (no joke) I can pretty much resonate with all the symptoms listed above. I have a few friends who have their own names for the (suicidal ideation) term, including 'tightrope day' and 'I feel like I will fall down all day'. I have had some treatment for PMS in the past, the list of remedies is very useful, since using my intuition this month I took Lachesis for the first time in a while. More pointers would be great. Very many women in the US (myself included) need the relief that homeopathy can bring for PMS and the onset of menopause. More, please! I would love to blog about this with some baseline recommendations.

With this comparison of 'quantity' where the homeopathic dose is low and selected based upon the total picture of emotions, physicals and mindset and the allopathic dose is a supplementation of what the body supposedly is missing by adding a high crude dose; what would Hahnemann say happens next?

The individual will see an alleviation in symptoms for a while and then will the doses need to be ever increasing, while the symptoms return? While homeopathically, less and less dosing will be needed?

Do we actually see this principle fulfilled in all the case-studies of women who take vitamin supplementation? Perhaps a long-term study over the course of years will play out this drama. Can a person receive these nutrients more naturally through intake of foods and better nutrition?

Like Calcium Carbonate, recently “they” are also using Magnesium for PMS.
But we are much ahead of “them”! For decades Homoeopaths are using Mag. Phos. as one of the prime medicines against PMS.

Magnesium's role in alleviating premenstrual syndrome (PMS) has made big news as well.

“As time goes on, magnesium is recommended and used in more and more treatments. Prevention or treatment of myocardial infarctions (MIs), prevention of kidney stones, and in treatment of premenstrual syndrome are some important recent uses.

Problems that May be Helped by Magnesium :

Angina pectori
Bronchial asthma
Premenstrual syndrome
Kidney stones
Menstrual pain
Muscle cramps

Supplementing magnesium has been shown to be very helpful in alleviating many symptoms related to the menstrual period. Menstrual cramps, irritibility, fatigue, depression, and water retention have been lessened with magnesium, usually given along with calcium and often with vitamin B6. Magnesium is often at its lowest level during menstruation, and many symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) are relieved when this mineral is replenished. Supplementing magnesium in the same amount (or more) as calcium (about 500-1,000 mg. daily) is currently recommended for premenstrual problems.
