Creating Waves of Awareness

My cousin’s daughter is just one and half years old. She is fond of one particular cradle song sung by K S Chithra (renowned female singer from India.) Whenever the child cries for any reason, that song soothes her easily. Surprisingly, neither any other songs nor by her favorite toys will calm her. It is almost like an addiction to that particular song.

They told me that her mother used to listen that particular song throughout her pregnancy. But, I did not take this as relevant since I felt it might be an individual affinity of a child to one song.

Now, accidentally, I have come across one programme on National Geographic Channel (I do not remember its title), which deals with the influence of music on the fetus. They have shown the live video in which the fetus inside the womb starts moving rhythmically on hearing the music played outside. The fetus can identify the favorite song and the same affinity continues even after delivery, they said.

Now I know the reason behind the affinity of my cousin’s daughter for one particular song.

So, it is my request to all pregnant women to always listen to good music throughout your pregnancy.

Few years back I had seen the documentary in the 8 and 9 the month soft music is played, now when the child is born and if the child cries and do not get sleep if the same music is played they calm down and get sleep.
This was scientifically been done with many mothers and children. It's because when the child develop ears those and the mothers voice is what they recognise each time.

Dear Dr.Rafeeque.

There is a nice CD available called Garhbha Sanskar and Garbha Aadhan. It has tracks of our old ancient Indian Cultrue Ragas and also some nice Shlokas so that the Newborn has good qualities and strength. I have used them and I see the effects of them in my kids. Hope it helps.
