Homeopathic “Surgery” For a Case of Bilateral Nasal Polyp with Complete Obstruction

When Mr. H. entered hurriedly to my consulting room, I thought it is a case of exopthalmos due to hyperthyroidism, because his facial expression and behavior was almost same! But, I was totally wrong! It was his horrible situation that changed his expression. His both nostrils were completely blocked since almost three to four months due to ethmoidal nasal polyps. He was unable to breath through the nose, and there was no sense of smell since many days.

His voice was also changed due to nasal tone. He often gives public speeches on religious subjects, but due to this problem, he kept all his activities pending. He often felt bad when people asked about the protruding mass from the nose. He had been to various ENT surgeons, but there was no change even after trying anti-allergic medicines, nasal drops, and a very costly foreign nasal spray imported. The same situation continued even after changing the prescriptions. Finally, as usual, the surgeon suggested surgery as the last resort.

Picture taken during 1st consultation.

The patient agreed to do surgery, but only after the month of Ramadan, because he does not want any constraints to perform holy fasting. The reason why he consulted me was, until his date of surgery, he needed some sort of relief from the visible swelling and nasal obstruction.

Considering the presenting complaints and his strong demand, I prescribed Teucrium Marum 30, three doses in sugar of milk, along with one dram of placebo pills. I asked him to stop all medicines, drops and nasal spray prescribed by the ENT surgeon. He followed my advice strictly, and took the doses in three consecutive days, and came back after 7 days.

Second consultation.

The polyp was reduced in size, and the obstruction was less.  I again prescribed placebo and asked him to come after seven days.

After seven days he came back with a pleasant smile. To my surprise, I could not see the polyps on either side! Also his voice was almost normal. His facial expression was also normal (Please compare the expression of his eyes in the pictures). Now he can breathe through the nose, and he started giving his religious speeches as usual.

Third consultation.

Now his treatment is going on. I have to find out his constitutional remedy to give him maximum result, or else the same story will repeat again. I am sure, if the same improvement continues, he will not waste money for an unnecessary surgery. And, now, the reason why a few doctors are against Homeopathy is very clear – Homeopathy is a real threat for those business-minded people!

He is free from his nasal troubles, and he is mentally also happy, but his basic charecters are the same. His individual characters, desires, aversions, responce to the external stimuli, etc are still visible. I am trying to findout his constitutional drug.

Thanks for posting the case.Teu is specific remedy for this ailment and it does magic in many cases. To prevent reoccurrences we need a constitutional remedy. Can you please tell me how can we do that when the patient is now free of any problem and what can be the basis(symptoms)? Is it possible to select a constitutional remedy for every healthy person to prevent him from every possible disease in future? can anybody enlighten?

Thanks for the comments. These pictures were taking using the webcam. Mobile phone can give better image. But the best is the Rhinoscopic view!

Good case! Yes a constitutional remedy will cure this guy's recurrence.
The pics are good, I would prefer taking such close pics with a mobile phone of atleast 3MP with flash.

Good case to share!

It must be difficult to take good quality photographs inside the nasal passageways. Probably need special lighting and camera. Marvelous case and looking forward to more of this story. Would have liked this in the Cured Cases Database.
