Creating Waves of Awareness

Hoax Email. Scam. Urgent Message To Homeopaths. Do Not Open.

Dear friends,

Some fake emails are circulated in the name of a Homeopath in Kolkatta, India. When I contacted that homeopath, he informed that he has not sent any emails requesting financial help!

There is one homeopathic seminar in Kolkata, Organised by supported by Central council of research inHomoeopathy, government of India.

International Conference on Homeopathy, molecular to organismal level
Kolkata, India

This will be a good seminar. I wish the organizers all success.

But, here is the fake email

Today, I received an email from an anonymous person:

How are you doing? I'm sorry for not informing you about my short traveling
to Scotland for a Seminar. It was something urgent and i didn't even inform
anyone about this traveling. Right now i need your help because my wallet
got lost on my way to the hotel I lodged in, Inside the wallet was my phone,
cards, diary, including my return ticket and other vital documents. I have
reported the case to the police but i am worried and stranded here. I find
it very difficult to say this but i need an urgent loan of 2000 British pounds

for me to sort out my hotel bills and get myself back home.
Here is my details for you to send me the amount you can afford via western
union money transfer...

Name: Anirban Sukul
Address : 21 George Street,
Edinburgh EH2 2PB, Scotland

This favor I will always show gratitude throughout my lifetime. kindly help
me make the transfer as soon as you receive this email and once you have it
sent, send me the transfer control number. Also do let me know how you want
me to pay you back and I can make the arrangements to get it to you as soon
as I get back home.

Thanks so much and sorry to bother you.

Immediately I contacted Dr Sukul and came to know that he is still in Kolkatta. He said, some of his friends also received the same email asking money.

Dear friends, Beware of such fake messages. One day you may receive message
from Dr Muhammed Rafeeque - asking money from a five-star hotel in Antarctica. You all love me so much, but NEVER give the money or give your credit card details. Nowadays Homeopaths are equally targeted by the skeptics and the robbers!

Almost all doctors in social network connecting sites got that email. We should always delete and purge such messages. But, the problem is, we may delete some genuine messages!

Last year, a few homeopaths and ayurvedic doctors in Kerala got emails and letters from an institute in Spain that gives "wonderful opportunity" for fresh graduates. They asked some initial amount for official proceedings and visa. Many doctors transferred the amount and got cheated!

Dear Dr Rafeeque. This type of email has circulated among HWC members in the past and I have heard of one friend who actually sent money. Please NEVER give money before you have spoken with your friend to see if there is a hoax.

We must alert and inform the authorities.

Also, please confirm that there is a real and true conference December 10-12, 2010.
Thank you.
