In this scorchy heat lots of people suffer from Gastric problems like Gastro Enteritis, Diarrhoea, Dehydration, Vomiting , Heat Cramps ,Constipation, Bloody Stools , Heart burn and Ulcers etc. caused by defective food intake and contaminated food stuff , fruits and water etc.
Dr. Nirmaljeet Singh, Dr. Deepak Sharma and Dr.A.K. Proper hydration and small quantity of food at a time and avoid keeping long gap between eating were the common suggestions and taking Lemon water with bit of Salt and Sugar does the trick of balancing the Electrolytes in the body. Specially Sodium and Potassium levels have to be maintained to avoid the dehydration and Cramps. If oral management is done properly then the need of patient being hospitalized for Intra Venous Glucose fluids etc. can also be avoided.
Doctors while presenting their deliberations said that certain precautions are mandatory specially for young children and elderly people in this hot summer like avoiding the use of cut and stale fruits, over exertion, overeating, drinking too much water in one go and use of alcoholic beverages, etc. In case of dehydration and excessive acidity slow intake of mashed banana with a little salt can be another good alternative to provide Potassium and Sodium where bottle of ORS is not available.
Some Homoeopathic remedies like Arsenic Album, China, Nux Vom, Ipecac, Merc Cor. etc. have been proved very effective in the management of such conditions according to the symptoms of the cases. The experiences shared by the doctors were well appreciated . M/s B.Jain pharmaceuticals also contributed to the success of this event.
