Allergy constitutes the most common causes of chronic illness. Although rates may appear to be lower in developing countries, wherever prevalence studies have been conducted there is evidence of a steady increase over time in the proportion of populations suffering from allergies. It has been proposed that there of the changing environment and improved general health, superimposed on a range of genetic susceptibilities.
Therefore, the treatment of allergy should have high priority inmost countries, and the specialty of allergy should constitute an important branch of remedies.

Allergic reaction may occur anywhere in the body, in the skin, eyes, lining of the stomach, nose, sinuses, throat, and lungs - places where immune system cells are located to fight off invaders that are inhaled, swallowed, or come in contact with the skin. The resultant effect of such reaction may be in as under:
• Rhinitis - sneezing, nasal stuffiness, nasal itching, nasal discharge,
itching in ears or roof of mouth
• Allergic conjunctivitis - itchy, red, watery eyes
• Atopic dermatitis - dry skin, red, itchy,
• Urticaria - itchy welts or hives
• Contact dermatitis - itchy rash
• Airway problems - shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing / asthma

Common homeo remedies generally used are:
Allium cepa, Arsenicum album, Apis mel, Utica urens, Selenium, Sabadilla, Rhus tox, Lac defloratum (milk allergy), Hygrophilla spinosa
Eyes Allergy:
• Euphressia
• Urtica urens
• Argentum nit.
• Apis mel,
• Apocynum can

Homeopathic remedies for individual allergic patients to be selected depending on the totality of symptoms of each patient keeping in mind the environmental factors , specific allergens and hereditary aspects.
