There is a close association between man and the environment. The surroundings in which the human being dwells have an impact on the mind and the body. Similarly, the situations in the working environment can cause a positive or negative impact on the workers. It has been found that a disturbed mind of a worker affects his working capacity, which in turn affects the productivity of the…

The news about the H1N1 flu pandemic has taken a new and potentially troubling turn. First, the US government has given legal immunity to the companies that make antivirals and the flu vaccine. Second, it has suspended the usual requirement for testing for safety and efficacy. This would be troubling if the manufacturers were preparing a variation of the normal flu vaccine, with the H1N1 antigen replacing the usual mix of flu viruses. But the very disturbing development is that the flu vaccine… Continue

1. What ever we do, comes back to us, either now or later
2. Disease is suffering. And suffering is due to the suffering that we gave to others = Sin.
3. The effects can not be modified in any other way, than by exhausting it.
4. The direct way, therefore, is to supply the 'most similar suffering'.
5. Homoeopathy does it, hence delivering one from 'sin'.

While attending a surgery lecture in 3rd year BHMS, our surgery professor, Dr S D Bhomaj, FRCS, asked the students, “who is a good surgeon?” Immediately the Students gave different types of answers. Someone said, “a surgeon who does operation with minimum scar”, another one answered, “a surgeon who operates without any complications”, one girl said, “operation with minimum bleeding”, etc…
The professor agreed with all those answers. But the most accurate answer he said was an old… Continue

I have been challenged by Debby Bruck to write a blog. The problem is that I’ve never written a blog. She is encouraging me to share my thoughts with the world. But I’m just your average Joe, I’m not a talented writer. I’m not poetic and I don’t know how to make sentences flow so as they are profound. Who wants to read boring material? Will anyone read it if I write it and will they think I am not qualified to do this? What makes someone qualified to write a blog?
I think we all have… Continue

Rare drugs, as the name indicates, are prescribed very rarely and yet we homoeopaths use this term commonly in our day today practice. It is needless to say that these drugs are used rarely and are usually confined to shelves within sealed bottles.
Which are rare drugs?
There is no clear-cut demarcation line between rare and common… Continue

We all enjoy the smiling faces of babies. But when they cry excessively, we go out of mood. A good number of our midnight patients are crying babies brought by their panic stricken parents. Two things done by the doctor can handle the situation smoothly, i.e. diagnosing the cause for crying and giving a dose of indicated homoeopathic medicine. The former is to ease the tension of parents whereas the latter is to make the baby…

Once again, a company is trying to market nicotine laced water
as a homeopathic product. This time it's being sold as a complex remedy, the water is laced with caffeine too. I don't know all the ins and outs of how homeopathic medicines are regulated in America, but this looks like another Zicam in the making -- another public relations black eye when the product is abused and causes problems. Can we see to… Continue

We are familiar with the ancient doctrine of signature right from the beginning of our homeopathic education. Irrespective of our attitude towards this concept, we compare the signature aspects of certain drugs while dealing with Materia medica.
The doctrine of signature is actually an old concept found in many European civilizations and later on…

The moment we think about peptic ulcer (now called acid peptic disorders) the trio of its etiology, hurry worry and curry comes to our mind. Are these three factors related only with peptic ulcer? No! There are many diseases that have close association with these stimulating factors. Modern lifestyle has an impact on each and every system of our… Continue

It occasionally happens that someone in the allopathic community tells the truth. It doesn't happen that often, so it's worth bookmarking for later reference. In the first article, a vice-president of Glaxo Smith Kline admits that the majority of people are not helped by the allopantic drugs they take
The vast majority of drugs - more than 90 per cent - only work… Continue

Right from the inception of homoeopathy, we are facing a number of threats from the opponents of this science. But, it is interesting to see that most of the opponents in those days later on accepted this mode of treatment as a passion and worked hard to promote homoeopathy worldwide. Dr Herring’s life is the best example. He was actually appointed to write a book against homoeopathy, but after repeating the experiments done by Hahnemann, he became the ardent follower of this science. In India,… Continue

In the recent years, there is a rise in the number of people suffering from piles, a condition medically termed as hemorrhoids. Proportionately, there is a hike in the advertisements in different media on various patent products that are supposed to cure piles. But the fact is, majority of the piles patients we come across are self diagnosed cases. Most of them suffer from occasional burning pains or soreness in the anal region and diagnose themselves as piles without a medical consultation.… Continue

I was wondering if anyone had definite information on whether licensed alternative health care practitioners: chiropractors, naturopaths, and acupuncture practitioners will be covered under Obama's Health care plan. A conservative friend told that they were not. I went searching on the web and found that Obama promised to cover chiropractic treatment before the election. Politicians' promises, though, are perishable goods and I don't have reliable information about the current… Continue

I just realised after driving 8 hrs across my country to reach the capital city of Reykjavík, that I really wanted to talk to somebody.
Just share my views of the frensy we are going through today, perhaps talk a little about miasms, or the way of viewing remedies through the periodic table.
Whilst sitting here, with a borrowed computer, I realised that my visits to this site most often quench my thirst. Sometimes I read something and… Continue
