How I found HWC.

Debby has asked me how I came accross HWC. I found it via searching for Homeopathy on Facebook.

I feel a little out-of-depth here, with all these highly qualified and clearly very learned people, but I hope to learn much from all of you.

Much love,

Hi Mary
Very thankful for adding in your friends list.
You don't give the answer of my question "How can it be possible for me or us (other members of HWC) to learn about Bowen".

The Bowen Technique is one version of a group of technical interpretations of the work of Australian self-proclaimed osteopath Tom Bowen (1916–1982) known as Bowen Therapy, which is a holistic system of healing. The Bowen Technique was limited to Australia until 1986, when it was named, and introduced to other countries by Oswald Rentsch, who observed Bowen at work one morning a week for two years.
It has since been developed and furthered by many others and is now one of the nine therapies involved in the move towards voluntary self regulation in the United Kingdom.
The Bowen Technique involves a gentle, rolling motion, with very light touches. The rolls are supposed to either tighten or loosen off muscles depending on the way the move is done.
The Bowen Technique is not massage, acupressure or chiropractic. There is no manipulation, adjustment or force used. The practitioner uses thumbs and fingers to gently move muscles and tissues. In between each set of moves, the practitioner leaves the room.
The Bowen Technique affects the body primarily through the nervous and the bioenergetic systems, to bring it into a state of balance.
dear dr. Ajay hopefully its sufficient to you to know about this therapy & am sorry to Mary-Jo if i said something wrong.
All the best dear fellows.

Hi Dr Ajay,

Thank you for your warm welcome.

Bowen is best described as a "soft-tissue remedial therapy". It was developed by an Australian called Tom Bowen. Bowen moves are designed to stimulate the body's own response to injury or disease, so it is a very gentle technique, unlike some more conventional physiotherapy, which can cause the patient discomfort.

I am still learning Bowen at the moment, and am also trying to find out about as many different therapies and techniques as I can, which is why I joined HWC. To find out more about homeopathy.
