What brought you to homeopathy? Tell your 150 word inspirational story that connects you to homeopathy. How has homeopathy changed your life?
I studied medicine at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with homoeopathic therapeutics as a 3rd year subject – qualified in 1987. I had no time for homoeopathic therapeutics - there was only one medicine, and my mind was made up - my cup was full. I attained postgraduate internal medicine qualifications MRCP UK in 1992. While preparing for this, the therapeutic limitations of the dominant system rattled my dogmatism. My interests in homoeopathis therapuetics was rekindled by a close friend, Dr Igsaan Khan BDS, BIH. On return to South Africa in 1993, I functioned as consultant physician at Livingstone Hospital, Port Elizabeth during 1993-1994. Treating patients successfully homoeopathically in a conventional hospital led to unpleasantness. As such, I resigned from this post in December 1994.

What is your vision for the future of homeopathy
My main aim is to correct the erroneous concept of the scientific evidence of therapeutic technologies. My research which I presented at the Liga2011, New Delhi, and at the special session organised by the CCRH and the Liga2011, is the basis for this endeavour. I have been tremendously humbled by the CCRH's invitation to me to present my research at this session.
Why I would like to join this network?
I want to advocate for homeopathy, I want to be involved with the homeopathic community at large
Write detailed background to introduce yourself. What school did you attend? Year of graduation? Degree or diploma? Where do you practice?
I attended Uitenhage High School and graduated in 1972. Please recall that that was still under the Apartheid system in South Africa. We performed unbelievably poor at school, not for lack of intelligence, rather, as a consequence of all the other unfortunate circumstances. As such, I could not enter medical school. In fact, I became obssessed with the study of medicine only at age 16, after having seen my mother die in an extreme emaciated state. I wished to become a master clinician.
Medical school took a long time to attend. That materialised only in 1980 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, since I landed up there as a political refugee. I qualified in 1987. As stated earrlier, I worked and studied in the UK to attain the MRCP UK qualiifcations.
If you do not have a reference so that we can verify your homeopathic status, please send a copy of your homeopathy diploma and association certificates to HWCmembers at gmail dot com
I have a HWC member reference
What are your interests besides homeopathy? Inquiring minds want to know.
In the little free time at my disposal, I have to engage in some family quality time, and conduct research on the scientific evidence of therapeutic technologies. My family love the outdoors, as such we go very regularly for walks or hikes in the mountains of the Western Cape.

The Scientific Evidence of Therapuetic Technologies

Posted on March 23, 2012 at 7:00am 1 Comment

Dear Colleagues,

What represents the true scientific evidence of therapeutic technologies? This question has bugged me since 1994 after having treated a junior medical registrar in an allopathic hospital for a spinal cord compression which transpired under anesthesia for a biopsy to confirm spinal tuberculosis. He was fully functional until he woke from anesthesia, and still had residual grade…
