Homeopathic remedies are prescribed on the principal that 'like cures like', in a tiny dilution - so the indications below are what a healthy person would feel if taking Aurum Metallicum. If your symptoms fit within the symptoms below, then Aurum Metallicum would be a good bet.
The following are the strongest indications of Aurum Metallicum for its use in homeopathy. Entries on a white background are from Boericke's Materia Medica, other entries are from a reversed Kent's repertory.

Given full play, Aurum develops in the organism, by attacking the blood, glands, and bone, conditions bearing striking resemblance to mercurial and syphilitic infections; and it is just for such deteriorations of the bodily fluids and alterations in the tissues, that Aurum assumes great importance as a remedy. Like the victim of syphilis, mental states of great depression are produced by it. Hopeless, despondent, and Great desire to commit suicide. Every opportunity is sought for self-destruction. Exostosis, caries, nightly bone-pains, especially cranial, nasal, and palatine. Glands swollen in scrofulous subjects. Palpitation and congestions. Ascites often in conjunction with heart affections. Frequently indicated in secondary syphilis and effects of Mercury. This use of gold as an anti-venereal and anti-scrofulous remedy is very old, but has been well-nigh forgotten by the old school until rediscovered and placed on its scientific basis by homeopathy, and now it can never be lost again. When syphilis is implanted on the scrofulous constitution, we have one of the most intractable morbid conditions, and gold seems to be especially suited to the vile combination. ENNUI. Ozaena; sexual hyperaesthesia. Arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure; nightly paroxysms of pain behind sternum. Sclerosis of liver, arterial system, brain. Pining boys; low spirited, lifeless, weak memory.

WORSE, in cold weather when getting cold. Many complaints come only in winter; from sunset to sunrise.

Compare: Aurum Metallicum. Ars ( Chronic aortitis, lupus, phthisis in syphilitic headaches; also in anaemia and chlorosis. It causes rapid increase of appetite.
Aur-br ( in headaches with neurasthenia, megrim, night terrors, valvular diseases.
Aur-mur ( Burning, yellow, acrid leucorrhoea; heart symptoms, glandular affection; warts on tongue and genitals; sclerotic and exudative degeneration of the nervous system. Multiple sclerosis. Morvan’s disease. Second trituration. Aur. mur. is a sycotic remedy, causing suppressed discharges to. Valuable in climacteric Hemorrhages from the womb. Diseases of frontal sinus. Stitching pain in left side of forehead. Weariness, aversion to all work. Drawing feeling in stomach. Cancer, tongue as hard as leather; induration after glossitis.)

Aur-m-k. - Double Chloride Of Potassium And Gold ( In uterine induration and hemorrhage.)
Aur-i ( Chronic pericarditis, valvular diseases, arteriosclerosis, ozaena, lupus, osteitis, ovarian cysts, myomata uteri, are pathological lesions, that offer favorable ground for the action of this powerful drug. Senile paresis.)

Aur-s ( Paralysis agitans; constant nodding of the head; affections of mammae; swelling pain, cracked nipples with lancinating pains.)

Also, Asafetida ( in caries of bones of ears and nose). Syphilin: Kali-Iod.; Hep.; Merc.; Mez.; Nit-ac.’ Phosph.

Antidotes: Bell.; Cinch.; Cupr; Merc.

Thanks for this well-presented article.

In osteo arthritis it helps regenerate cartilage in knee joints. A good remedy in D.N.S.

I once successfully treated a girl with skin allergy to wearing gold jewelry by Aurum-met

GREEN GOLD| Minute particles of gold can be found in eucalyptus trees. How can we explore this information when learning about homeopathy and knowing the attributes of this metal? We utilize and compare the properties of plants that contain SILICA for a variety of symptoms and diseases. Silica targets bone health.  Likewise, gold targets mental health and traces of this mineral in our foods can benefit people. Getting our information through absorption in this way via plants can be beneficial. However, gold can have detrimental effects on the mental stability of an individual, can in crude form, for those obsessed with "money" can drive them over the brink into deep depression. While, having ambition and desire to manage can create structure and form in the workplace or organization.

Finding traces of gold in Eucalyptus leaves indicates a mineral channel under the earth. Today's miners may use technology to unearth precious metal. Questions: Can we compare this to Fracking? Why destroy the earth's foundation and nature's beauty for a piece of metal or bit of gas? Just because we have the knowledge, sometimes this tests our "Inner Metal" toward caring and securing the earth. Wildlife depend upon these plants and a whole life cycle could be disrupted through mining.

What more can homeopaths learn about gold with this information?

  • At the tail end of the century in which most major gold rushes took place around the globe, Emil Lungwitz reported something unusual: plants seemed to be picking up the precious metal. Writing in the Mining Journal in 1900, Lungwitz—an inventor from Brooklyn, New York—described “the lixiviation of gold deposits by vegetation.”

  • After more than a century, Lungwitz’s keen observation may help modern-day prospectors hit their own mother lodes. This past October, researchers in Australia found evidence of gold particles inside the leaves of a eucalyptus tree in Western Australia and located a deposit of gold more than 100 feet beneath it. “Finding such high concentrations of gold in the foliage of this tree growing over a gold deposit buried beneath 35 meters of weathered rock was a complete surprise,” says Melvyn Lintern, a geochemist at Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

  • “Plant roots integrate the geochemical signature of a large volume of soil, contained groundwaters, and sometimes the underlying bedrock,” says Dunn, who is now an independent geochemistry consultant based in British Columbia. Particles foreign to a plant that have infiltrated its leaves can be powerful indicators of what surrounds its roots. So when specks of gold make it to the very tops of trees, it’s a fairly strong signal there may be treasure buried beneath. A tree’s deep-set roots make it “effectively a biological drilling rig,” says geochemist David Cohen of Australia’s University of New South Wales.
