June 2012 | A British journalist was brutally sexually assaulted in Cairo's Tahrir Square as thousands of Egyptians gathered to celebrate the nation's presidential election results.

Toronto News | Muslim preacher calls on Toronto Canada to "introduce laws that would make it illegal for women to dress provocatively."  The blame for men's violence against women, he says, is the responsibility of the females. This is the type of mental thinking we have to contend with in this world. 

The Definition of Rape

Rape is forced sexual intercourse, including both psychological coercion and physical force. Forced sexual intercourse means vaginal, anal or oral penetration by the offender(s). This category includes incidents where the penetration is from a foreign object such as a bottle. This definition includes attempted rapes, male and female victims, and heterosexual and homosexual rape.

What is Sexual Assault?

SEXUAL ASSAULT includes a wide range of victimizations, distinct from rape or attempted rape. These crimes include completed or attempted attacks generally involving unwanted sexual contact between the victim and offender. Sexual assaults may or may not involve force and include such things as grabbing or fondling. Sexual assault also includes verbal threats.

FACTS:
Rape is called "the most underreported violent crime in America"

Rapists are more likely to be serial criminals than serial murderers.

Only two percent of rapes reported to authorities are false. This is approximately the same rate of false reports for other crimes.

• 1 in 4 women will be sexually abused in their lifetimes
• About 91% of victims of rape are female
• About 9% of rape victims are male
• Nearly 85% of victims knew their attacker
• More than 40% of incidents involve more than one assailant
• Nearly 50% of rape victims are under 18
• More than 80% of rape victims are under 30
• 61% of rapes are never reported to the police
• In reported rapes there is a 50.8% chance that an arrest will be made.
• If an arrest is made, there is an 80% chance of prosecution.
• If there is a prosecution, there is a 58% chance of a felony conviction.
• If there is a felony conviction, there is a 69% chance the convict will spend time in jail.
• Factoring in unreported rapes, about 6% of rapists - 1 out of 16 - will ever spend a day in jail, 15 out of 16 will walk free.

In my opinion rape can never be eliminated as long as question of morality is compromised with. Morality will depend on so many factors starting with family and its upbringing.

Every major religion has always preached morality issue which encompassed sexual issues.

Look at the days of " little house on the prairies" which had so many important moral issues dealt with. As the world has marched toward materialism, capitalism, and so many other "ism", morality has found its own image with passage of time.

One example, see the changes in dress code,the more scanty the more applause. These are not encouraging signs and symptoms. Sex has lost its original values, and specially in western world it has developed its own standard. Schools are open to such happenings, question is why?

Where do we go from here and where is the boundary? Only time will tell.
