Creating Waves of Awareness

This case is during my internship

I was posted in Ortho dept

A lady came with knee joint pain

Age 50+

Thin stature, can say almost skinny

Skin-Dry, Lusterless, thin

She told me both her knee pains

I asked her which side

She told she doesnt remember

I said try to remember it was right or left (i know this was my imature approach)

She became very serious, she said she is much tensed mentally than these pains

I asked her what..

She told she was healthy prior to 10months

Her only son got seperated after marriage (In India all wants joint family, though now a days more n more people are opting for nuclear family )

The next day itself, she experienced pain in knees while getting up after bath

With tears in her eyes she said, "i dont mind he staying seperate but if i get physically unfit how can i take care of my husband.

I dont care about my mself"

I asked her, then why she came here?

She told me its her husband who forced her to come for treatment

She is not much interested in treatment, but will do it for husband

Thermal: Chilly3

Thirst: Thirstless

Observation:- Dressed in a very simple cotton saree, not drapped properly

Follow up:-

One dose reduced pain in a weeks'time

She was very happy that now she can take care of her husband

I was tranferred to other dept, met her aft 2months, she told me she is doing well and very happy

its was her last visit to hospital

So now get ready for new ideas..

Let me get some mind blowing ideas which i didnt thought of

Dear All,
I have already given the remedy name..its Sepia
Kindly check last few pages for complete explanation
:) Thank you
Dear Dr Sadhana

The idea you put forward is very impressive and is very happy to see this response from the members.

I defer from you in many points and don't take this in a negative angle.

Gone through the case and all the comments: Why we are complicating a prescription in this way ?

We should go from the case to the Materia Medica No ?
Not from Materia Medica to the case.

"Natrum Mur was one of choice but i ruled out with thermals
Also she is comfortable in sun"

"Calc for thin shrivelled lady...
I cant think of it
Also calc is very careful abt himself
and she is not bothered abt herself" etc..etc..

This may create some confusion atleast for the beginners.

The symptoms of the case itself leads to Sepia and that must be the logical explanation. You may have your own shortcuts to reach there but if you are not presenting the explanations in an adoptable, more comprehensive way, others may take it in a wrong way and may lead to wrong prescriptions.

I tried to workout the case and here is the result :

Symptoms and evaluation :

1. Pain in Knee ( Common Symptom - 547 medicines )
< emotions after strong ( less important because, we cannot get the direct rubric - Knee pain < emotions after - we must apply grand generalisation. ie, Mind, emotions, ailments after strong )
2. Thin stature ( Confirmed )
3. Skin, dry ( Confirmed but less important as it contains many medicines )
4. Careless about herself - health, clothing ( Confirmed )
5. Worries about domestic affairs ( Confirmed )
6. Cold in general agg ( Common symptom - 639 medicines )
7. Thirstless ( Confirmed )

Total Rubrics

1. Mind, Worries full of, domestic affairs about
2. Mind, Indifference, himself to ( that is the rubric but it is applicable to 'herself' too )
3. Generalities, Lean, thin people.
4. Food, Thirstless.
5. Skin, dry.
6. Mind, emotions, ailments after strong

Rubrics for Repertorisation proper

1. Mind Worries full of, domestic affairs about
2. Food, Thirstless.
3. Generalities, Lean, thin people.

Repertorial Result :

Puls -- 231 --- 6/3
Ars -- 122 --- 5/3
Sep -- 122 --- 5/3

Analysis of remaining symptoms :

1. Mind, Indifference, himself to: Sep2
2. Skin, dry: Ars3, Puls2, Sep2
3. Mind, emotions, ailments after strong: Sep2

So there is no need of any confusion and complexity - Sepia worked because it was the Simillimum.

Your way of working is unique and good.
Wonderful way of working and thank for the my case also...
Hello Dr.Saji,
Thank you for your comment (Quiz 3)
I am really happy to see the perfect way of your explanation
I have bit different way but it is for a similmum

I am glad that soon we all can come to a single remedy with our own approach
So the new comers can feel at ease to understand Homoeopathy much better

Keep posting :)
