I don't put treatment off because of menstruation - the state of the patient should not change. Menstruation is a normal part of a woman's life and any symptoms that appear during menstruation are part of whatever state she is in. For an acute, you most likely would be ignoring her chronic reoccurring symptoms any way in favor of the new ones.
