Earthquake Tsunami Disaster Shock Waves Devastation & Japan Government Bailout

May 1, 2014 Japan Government Bailout  | The operator of Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear plant said today it booked a USD 4.3 billion annual net profit owing to an electricity rate hike and a massive government bailout following the 2011 disaster.

Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) was teetering on the brink as cleanup and compensation costs stoked huge losses and threatened to collapse the sprawling utility until Tokyo stepped with a multi-billion dollar rescue.

The company at the centre of the worst nuclear accident in a generation said it earned 438.65 billion yen (USD 4.3 billion) in the fiscal year to March, compared with a net loss of 685.3 billion yen in the same period a year earlier.

Sales rose 11.0 per cent to 6.63 trillion yen, it said.

Tokyo Japan Earthquake Tsunami Nuclear Power Plant Explosion Fallout Radiation Flooding Trauma

We must send love and healing to the earth and to Japan. Prayer will be upper most in our minds. And, action to care for those affected.

This earthquake will have global effects as the earth shifts and tectonic plates continue to move releasing tension. Imagine that an earthquake of a few seconds of this magnitude 8.9 on the Richter scale. Everyone has seen the images from a distance. Truly a unimaginable science fiction scene.

Major concern of radiation contamination, toxicity to air, water, ground, ocean, sealife and all living things. We shall post information about nuclear falloutplutonium, cesium and NOx. All people will be given iodine tablets to conserve thyroid gland.

What lessons have been learned from the earthquake in Haiti?

What are the first steps to caring for those affected?

No food and clean water for those who lived through the crisis.

Many dead bodies contaminating the water and ground.

What can we expect in the aftermath of such a disaster?

Aftershocks, contagious disease, poverty, isolation, grief, loss, post traumatic stress, pain, injury, destruction, devastation.

The AfterShocks Continue every hour with high intensity

Fukushima Radiated Water May Breach Storage Trenches

Bloomburg BusinessWeek | Radioactive water may overflow tomorrow, increasing contamination into the sea.

Tepco has pumped millions of liters of cooling water into the three reactors that melted down. By May 18, almost 100,000 tons of radioactive water had leaked into the basements of reactor and turbine buildings, connecting tunnels and service trenches at the plant . . .

Water Storage

“We are still considering the measures to be taken if contaminated water leaks,” Iwamoto said today.

The company may transfer more water than planned to a waste story facility to avoid overflows, Matsumoto said.

“There are likely to be underground leakage pathways that will be very hard to plug, and therefore the only way to stop the ongoing marine contamination is to remove the water from basements and other structures as quickly as possible,” environmental group Greenpeace International said in a statement.

Due to the seasonal rains and possible typhoons and tropical storms further contamination may occur. . . Hydrogen explosions at the plant blew the roofs off three reactor buildings, exposing pools containing spent fuel rods.

Typhoon Measures

Takeo Iwamoto, a spokesman for the utility, said the company plans to complete installing covers for the buildings by October. Further leaks are expected. Tepco on April 5 said it had dumped almost 10 million liters (2.6 million gallons) of radioactive water into the sea from the Fukushima plant, which led to radioactive cesium being found in fish at levels exceeding health guidelines.

Japan Radiation Update December 5, 2011

The radiation continues to seep into the ocean from Fukshima Daiichi nuclear power plant. As reported from day one, this world catastrophe will effect all living organisms, and the wealth of the source of food from the seas. Over the course of time since the tsunami and earthquake approximately 220 tons of irradiated water may have leaked into the ocean, with one million times as much radioactive strontium as the maximum safe level set by the Japanese government. And estimated 27.1 petabecquerels of radioactive cesium 137 has leaked into the Pacific. Both elements cause cancer.

Further Contamination Of World Oceans Imminent

Would you go along with the recommendation to dump more radiative soil into the oceans? A group led by Isao Tanihata, a professor at Osaka University's Research Center for Nuclear Physics, and Kozi Nakai, a former professor at the Tokyo University of Science, said the best way to get rid of the radioactive soil is to place it in noncorrosive, pressure-tight vessels and dumping them at least 2,000 meters deep near Japan.

December 7, 2011 | Dumping contaminated water into the ocean

  • They built a cooling system that does not require so much water usage
  • Using French, U.S. and Japanese technology the system decontaminates the runoff to supply the cooling system with water
  • The water accumulates and must be stored somewhere
  • The fishing industry worries about the seas, fish and ocean life contamination
  • 10,000 tonnes of radioactive water has already been released
